The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Lady Lee is definitely my friend. Some people here who are quick to judge are neither yet. Right now, they just obstruct.

WITH LADY LEE IN, A NEWLY REBRANDED AWAA IS GETTING BETTER EACH DAY
by Scott77 inlooks like the awaa people are here to stay.
i sense they have withered the rentless criticism and now have been refined for the long haul.
they have been washed in the previous blood of jesus christ and declared fit to the fine fight.

How to Take Down the AAWA! (For those that have been hurt by that org)
by HintOfLime in(if you're tired of aawa threads, please be aware, this is an aawa thread.).
sadly - there are people who have been negatively affected by the aawa, and like other organizations, the aawa made protecting it's name and reputation a priority over helping and protecting the people it should have been trying to help.
like other organizations, they won't discuss the issues publicly with the community, insisting instead on discussions behind closed doors and "getting the names" of people expressing concerns.. .

The Watchtower must be really happy reading this thread.
Get over it.
In fact, i don't think I get a hint of lime. I get a hint of a WT secret agent.
Cedars, more than anyone else messed up. He may not be a good leader, even if he had the best of intentions and can run a website very well. But so far, he fundamentally is on our side.
Can you insist that AAWA correct its mistakes, instead of planning to take it down.

Village Girl,
"Eating the cake (or sandwich) before recess" is an idiom for having sex before the right time or marriage. My wife was acussed by her own sister, with no basis, of having done something improper with me. No such a thing, but the elders went ahead with their punishment. In the next visit of the c.o., he told them to lift the punishment and apologize. Well not really, they only used the typical excuse of JW's when they mess up: "the light gets brighter".
Either Juan's wife did something bigger than marrying a "pagan", or the elders are going way too far with the disfellowshipping.

Bienvenido paisa Juan,
FOR THOSE WHO DONT UNDERSTAND SPANISH, I AM SAYING REALLY BAD THINGS ABOUT ALL OF YOU.

I was about 13 when I got deeper into science and evolution, which were a good reason to get rid of the "loving" spirit who would send me to hell for missing Mass. Never looked back. Lately, at 48, I am discovering that my instincts in my youth were right on the money. The God of the Bible is just a fabrication by men to control men.

That is proof that the time for being a passive observer is over. America and its religious right (and JW's too) are becoming ridiculous and quite the laughing stock among the industrialized nations. Time to fight back.

Welcome JDD. You will find caring people here. Many also are well informed and most are not judgemental of whatever creed or philosophy you embrace. Make the best of your life. Life is beautiful and the world is filled with beautiful people in and out of the ORG.

Watchtower vs. the Roman Catholic Church
by Farkel inthe roman catholic church (rcc) religious leaders wear ridiculous clothing.. wts elders wear ridiculous cheap suits.. .
one can wear a beard and still be a priest in the rcc.. one can wear a beard in the wts, but never be an elder with one.
it's bible-based(tm).

Baptism of a chid and an elder's response to my objection
by never a jw ini just learned that an 11 year old kid is taking the questions for baptism.
as soon as his father finished tellig me this, i told him that he should make his son wait, but he responded that he couldn't go against jehovah' spirit.
i gave the guy a break because he is the uneducated and naive immigrant who puts his heart, not his mind, into the religion.

Nickolas,
I get what you are saying. I think I am mostly speaking my mind at the same time trying to cause the elder to reconsider allowing children to baptize. I had a conversation on the same subject with this elder, right in my own dining room, about 11 months ago. I was a lot more civil back then.
At this point, after learning all there is to learn about the WT, I no longer can have much restrain. Since I have been very open, even insulting, with my brothers, nephews and two elders (all JW's), I am actually thinking that soon I am going to be shunned by many. It may not be an easy decision for the elders to make because my wife and daugter are JW's in good standing. Also, I employ, and therefore am the financial support, for two JW's heads of household, and technically I am not an apostate. However, the shunnining, if it happens in full force, maybe a tough, but a necessary break. This may produce the incentive I need to move my family to a different location and start fresh with the intention to move my family into freedom and the real world.
I trust your experience and wisdom. Feel free to comment.
